My inspiration for this series of work stems from Pencil Face, a SCAD short film about an interesting pencil. The unsettling, uncanny nature of putting a face onto an inanimate object intrigues me and really makes me smile. Usually it's seen as creepy; but, in this case, it's meant to be friendly. I have a bad relationship with food overall (and I have since I can remember), so this is also my way of forming a healthier relationship with food.
